Overview
Motorised Pallet Trucks are widely used in manufacturing, warehouse and retail industries for various tasks within the organisation.
The dangers associated with the use of these trucks in the workplace are often underestimated. However, most accidents and incidents involving motorised pallet trucks can be prevented through the application of good safety behaviour.
Therefore having trained operators is not just a legal requirement but also essential for your safety management.
This ½ day course has been designed for operators with no previous training. The course will be delivered by RTITB Qualified Instructors.
Course Aim:
To ensure that the experienced operators can competently and safely operate motorised pallet trucks whilst in the workplace.
Course Programme
The course is delivered to a group of 6 operators and includes theory lessons together with a high volume of practical demonstrations and exercises.
The course covers the following topics:
- Introduction to Legal Obligations
- Inspection Procedures
- Battery Care & General Maintenance
- Manoeuvring in Awkward Areas
- Common Hazards
- Safe operating practices.
- General Safety Rules
- Loading & Unloading
Who Should Attend?
Employees who will be operating Motorised Pallet Trucks as part of the job descriptions.
Assessment & Certification
Theoretical and Practical Assessments will be completed by each participant to ensure that they have reached the set standard. On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years.
