Overview
The recognition, assessment, and immediate on-site management of sports injuries are crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and to minimise further risk of harm.
This course is designed for coaches, instructors, teachers, supervisors, sports assistants, and volunteers.
Course Aim:
To ensure that the participants are confident in the application of First Aid and can make the decision when to activate medical
Course Programme:
Accidents: scene safety and casualty assessments
- Strains, Sprains, Dislocations and the R.I.C.E principle
- Fractures: upper body and lower body
- Bleeding: the dangers and treatments
- Dealing with concussion and unconsciousness
- Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy
- Spinal Injuries.
This 4 hour course is highly practical in nature and will provide the delegates with the necessary skills to carry out their duties as sports coaches with regards to the application of First Aid. The course facilitates 8 participants.
Assessment & Certification
Continuous skills assessments will be carried out to ensure all participants have achieved a set standard.
This course is also available as a 6 hour course with an added element of CPR and use of the defibrillator.
